Kathleen at Unsettled has some great pictures of her Caribbean grand tour. She went to a decidedly different part of the Caribbean than the one to which I went. Whereas I went to the desert islands of Aruba and Bonaire (and nearly went to the chaos of Venezuela). Kathleen seems to have gone to much more tropical realms (Barbados, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, etc.).
I think I'd like my next "warm" vacation (normally, I vacation in climates that are temperate at best) to be tropical. Maybe a little Costa Rica or Honduras action.
I'll have a story up for y'all in a little bit. I'm trying to clean house amidst a hangover right now (actually, a killer hangover, to be specific). I went to Asbury Park last night, to Harry's Roadhouse. It was a ska/punk night there. Harry's is quickly becoming one of my favorite bars in Monmouth County. It has truly great food (
If you go to Costa Rica, you can get both temperate and tropical in one vacation.
Go surfing at the beaches, diving down near the Panama border, and then river rafting in the mountains.
Astoundingly beautiful spot. I've spent a lot of time there. Nicaragua is nice too, but Panama's much hotter than CR, at least that's what I thought.

I've heard good things about Costa Rica from frineds that have bought land down there. I know that it will probably be the locus of my warm weather trip. I'm certain that my cold weather one will be either Nova Scotia or Iceland.
